7 Tips for Comfort Travel:

We love travel, but most of us don’t love the long flight to our destination. As a frequent traveler, I’ve tested out numerous ways to make the ride as comfortable as possible. Here are a few tips for comfort travel:

  1. Airplane pillow - try to find one that wraps around your neck and has a buckle in the front. This will help keep your head propped up and allow you to sleep without the awkward head-knod. Travel Tip - Marshall’s and TJ Maxx have some really great travel pillows at a low-cost.

  2. Eats - eating healthy and traveling aren’t known for being two peas in a pod. However, it is possible! Order tomato juice instead of a soda, or cheese and grapes instead of chips. Try the new juice bar at the airport instead of a sugary frappuccino. What you put in your body while you travel can greatly affect your comfort level.

  3. Exercise - this is  another thing that can be difficult to do while traveling.  Get up every now and then during your flight. Push your feet up and down while sitting and roll your ankles in a circular motion. When you arrive at your destination, you may or may not have a gym. If you don’t, an alternative would be to go for a jog or long walk. You can also do yoga, stretching or pilates in your room.

  4. Water - stay hydrated! This helps give you energy, refreshes your skin and keeps your body healthy.

  5. Vitamins - I always bring a variety of vitamins and medicine when I travel. A couple essentials are: Tums, Airborne, Emergen-C, Nyquil, Dayquil and Advil.

  6. Comfy clothes - wear something you can move around in easily. Temperature fluctuates when you travel so be sure to bring a jacket that you can take on and off.

  7. Stay clean - bring a toothbrush, face wipes and a small bottle of lotion in your carry-on. You will thank me later for this tip.
